Professional Experience
Summer 2022
Marketing Intern
Data Curious
San Diego
My experience working for Data Curious through the Center of Digital Society at USD was invaluable in exposing me to the ever important issue of data privacy while giving me the opportunity for the practical application of skills and knowledge I have learned over the past four years at USD. In this role, I spearheaded the company's first ever advertising campaign and wrote their first business/marketing plan. I also worked with the other interns to improve the user experience of our website, helped draft the company's mission and vision statements, and conduct analysis of the competitive landscape in the space. I learned to accept responsibility for challenging tasks that required me to learn on the go, while delivering work on a deadline that directly impacted the organization.
Summer 2021
Server
Local Union 271
Palo Alto, CA
As a server at this busy restaurant, I was responsible for taking orders, delivering food, cleaning tables for service, assisting any needs of the bartenders, and engaging with customers. I enjoyed working in this fast paced environment which allowed me to great relationships with guests and my fellow employees. One highlight from the summer was salvaging the relationship with two customers who were upset about their experience. I was able to turn their frustration around by simply listening to their concerns and was happy to later be shown by a coworker that the guests had written a Yelp review referencing my name and how I positively impacted their experience.
Summer 2020
Coach
Growfit
Redwood City, CA
As a coach at Growfit, I was responsible for creating an activity plan for three, two weeks sessions of summer camp. I worked with kids with ages ranging from 6-12 to make sure they had an active and fun summer camp experience. When I joined the organization, my first week of camp was the first week that the camp had resumed following shutdowns due to COVID-19. It was challenging to communicate the need for extensive COVID protocols for group of 15-20 young children, while also communicating with parents to ensure that they knew their children were having an enjoyable and safe summer with us.
Summer 2019
Business Operations Intern
Stanford Health Care
Palo Alto, CA
As an intern working with the business operations team in the Pharmacy Department, I worked collaboratively with two graduate student interns on a project analyzing our purchases of prescription drugs while working individually on a project that would be used for the hospital to defend their savings generate from the 340B Federal Drug Savings Program. The report was the first of its kind and was both published on the Stanford Health Care website as well as distributed to other hospitals across the country that benefitted similarly from the drug savings program but did not have a way to communicate the direct benefit to patient experience to their stakeholders. Check out the full report at projects section of my website!
